Are you passionate about shaping the future of online shopping? Canal is looking for a talented Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in San Francisco. We are building the new inventory layer of online shopping, empowering digital merchandisers to activate and manage brand partnerships.

About the Role

As a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be a foundational member of our engineering team, working on a brand new project. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and business operators to produce high-quality, production-ready code. You will lead large projects from inception to production, participate in roadmapping and architecture discussions, and unblock and support your team.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality, production-ready, readable, maintainable code.
• Lead large projects from initial inception to production.
• Unblock and support your team of peers including engineers, executives, designers, product managers, and business operators.

What We Are Looking For

• A computer science or technical degree & 5-6 years industry experience, or 7+ years in full-time software engineering roles.
• At least two years working within a web framework (Django, Rails, Spring, etc.).
• At least two years building with React or a comparable front-end web development library.
• Extensive knowledge of SQL databases (Postgres preferred).
• Experience with integrations, webhooks, and/or APIs.
