What You'll Do
As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will lead our site reliability practices with a strong background in distributed systems architecture and high scale cloud backends. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Improving reliability and evolving our infrastructure
- Being hands-on in our stack, driving challenging platform initiatives
- Scaling up our infrastructure together with our backend engineers
- Influencing the development of our cloud architecture roadmap and code-based infrastructure management ("Infrastructure as code")
- Defining observability of our backend platform
- Optimizing performance and reducing error rates
- Working directly with our VP of Engineering to have reliability baked into everything we do
- Identifying valuable infrastructure initiatives, communicating them clearly, and bringing them from idea to production
What You Should Have
- Background of technical leadership driving engineering excellence
- Experience in building, scaling or managing production web services
- Deep working experience with AWS, SQL & OLAP databases and Node.js
- First-hand experience with SRE practices: SLOs/SLAs, modern incident management, etc.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to be autonomous and self-motivated in a remote work environment
