The Opportunity
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Platform team in Portugal. In this role, you will oversee multiple squads of multidisciplinary software engineers, serving as a technical reference and leader. You will be responsible for coding key features, performing pull request reviews, and leading architectural decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of critical services, focusing on long-term and sustainable solutions.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve services with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Build integrations with third-party APIs and tools.
- Support existing systems to enhance functionality and scale.
- Maintain the project’s technical vision and ensure it is up-to-date and comprehensive.
- Work with cutting-edge technologies on a global scale.
- Inspire and empower others by prioritizing wellbeing and creating a supportive work environment.
Who You Are
- Experienced in mentoring multidisciplinary teams of software engineers.
- Skilled in architecting large-scale, multi-tier web applications.
- Proficient in cloud-based architectures (AWS/GCP).
- Experienced in developing RESTful web services and collaborating with front-end teams.
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, Ruby, Go, C++, with Golang being a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams across different cultures.
