Responsibilities

As a Tax Seasonal Intern, you will:

• Work closely with other groups firmwide in Washington National Tax (WNT) to provide tax advice to a full range of business clients, including major multinational clients.
• Research complex corporate and partnership tax issues.
• Draft tax memoranda, outlines, and slides for speeches.
• Help draft articles and other items for both internal and external distribution.
• Assist in developing tools, templates, and spreadsheets for firmwide SALT professionals.
• Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a JD or LLM in Taxation, or an equivalent program.
• Preferred areas of study include Accounting and Taxation.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Excellent research skills with the ability to articulate complex information.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using personal or public transportation.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
