About the Role
As an Associate Full Stack Developer at BlackRock, you will be part of the Web Tech Engineering team, which is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the software technology platform that powers 134 public-facing websites under the blackrock.com and ishares.com domains. These websites collectively attract around 4 million visits per month, showcasing comprehensive data about our investment funds on approximately 160,000 product pages, facilitating around 1,500 web content updates and 10,000 document uploads daily. Additionally, the platform supports authentication for over 600,000 registered users globally.
Responsibilities
- Designing, coding, testing, and supporting reliable, robust software applications and services with high-quality standards.
- Actively participating in multi-functional feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation.
- Collaborating with product management to determine the right units of work for each development sprint.
- Performing code reviews and providing timely feedback to other engineers.
What You'll Need
- Minimum 4 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python and/or a JVM-based language, preferably Java.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience with software containerization platforms like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and time management abilities.
- Strong analytical skills and a passion for understanding existing systems.
Nice to Have
- Experience with any of the modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
- Understanding of typical Java-based frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, J2EE, etc.
- Hands-on relational database and SQL skills.
- Strong knowledge in Java and Spring framework, as well as Git, Maven or Gradle, and Jenkins.

Our Hybrid Work Model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
