Job Title: Associate, Application Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA

Job Duties:

As an Associate Application Engineer at BlackRock, you will be responsible for analyzing the client and investment management lifecycle, including client contracting and onboarding, portfolio management, trading, compliance, trade settlement, business operational workflows, and overall reporting platforms to design the best solutions. You will support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, application design, system development, testing, implementation, and production support. You will create technical design documents to describe the planned solution and the upstream and downstream dependencies. Additionally, you will leverage and learn core technologies designed in-house to scale solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field.
• Three (3) years of experience as an Analyst, Application Engineer, Systems Engineer, or a related role.
• Must have three (3) years of experience with:
  • Programming using Sybase, Java, Python, Cassandra, Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, JUnit, UNIX, multi-threading, and methodologies including test-driven development and object-oriented design and programming.
  • Utilizing Agile development methodologies.
  • Creational, structural, and behavioral design patterns.
• Must have two (2) years of experience with:
  • Using SQL and PL/SQLs including Triggers, Functions, and Stored Procedures.
  • Restful APIs and gRPC.
  • C# and .Net frameworks.
  • Javascript, React, Typescript, Jest, and Redux.
  • Java-based microservices.
  • Azure DevOps.

Salary and Benefits:

For Seattle, the salary range for this position is $134,600 - $142,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department, and individual performance.
