DevOps Engineer, Associate/Vice President

As a DevOps Engineer at BlackRock, you will be part of the Platform Engineering division, specifically within the Foundational Services team. This team is crucial in evolving the strategic environment for Aladdin Applications by designing and developing the core infrastructure layers including Data Layer, Aladdin Messaging Services, Aladdin Desktop Experience, the Aladdin API Gateway, Aladdin Compute Farm, and transitioning services to Kubernetes containerized spaces.
Your Role and Impact
You will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that are critical to the development and operational success of our platforms. This includes modifying CI/CD pipelines in Azure, integrating components in Kubernetes, migrating to Docker, and updating core libraries for new features. Additionally, you will provide production support to our operational teams, ensuring high availability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure.
- Integrate and manage components in Kubernetes environments.
- Migrate services to Docker and manage containerized applications.
- Update and maintain core libraries and software components.
- Provide production support for operational teams, ensuring system reliability.
- Collaborate with program and product managers to enhance product offerings based on market needs.
Skills and Experience Required
- 4+ years of experience with a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience with Python, Git, GitHub, and Linux/Cloud environments.
- Proficiency in package managers (npm, Maven, pip) and build systems (CMake, Maven, Python, Bazel).
- Experience with cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS).
- Knowledge of Java, Perl, Go is a plus.
- Experience in IAAS, PAAS, database systems (SYBASE ASE, MSSQL, ODBC), and messaging systems (gRPC, Protobuf, Kafka).
