The Platform Engineering division architects and builds the fabric that underpins Aladdin, an operating system for investment managers that seeks to connect the information, people and technology needed to manage money in real time. Aladdin is used both internally and externally by many financial institutions. Aladdin combines sophisticated risk analytics with comprehensive portfolio management, trading and operations tools on a single platform to power informed decision-making and build a connective tissue for thousands of users investing worldwide.
The Foundational Services team, is part of the Platform Engineering and is responsible for evolving the strategic environment for Aladdin Applications, by designing and developing the core infrastructure layers of Aladdin including Data Layer, Aladdin Messaging Services, Aladdin Desktop Experience, the Aladdin API Gateway, Aladdin Compute Farm and plays a key role in moving the services into k8s containerized space.
Your role and impact
For the Platform Services team, we are searching for a competent developer with strong DevOps and CICD abilities, as well as proficiency in one of the following languages: Python, Java, C++, Go, or JavaScript. You will encounter many elements and technologies from the Foundational Services portfolio. A successful applicant should exhibit meticulousness, a strong willingness to comprehend the technology deeply, and the capacity to pick up new skills. We encourage our developers to grasp DevOps requirements, design, create, implement, and manage applications from the very beginning of the project. They usually operate in a multidisciplinary team (we use Agile!), collaborating with programme and product managers to increase product offerings in response to market needs.
Your Responsibilities
This could involve various tasks, such as modifying CI/CD pipelines in Azure, integrating components in Kubernetes, migrating to docker – or updating core libraries for new features, offering excellent production support to our operational teams.

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
