About The Team
The Transaction Risk team at Stripe is dedicated to optimizing the billions of dollars of transactions processed annually. We own products like Radar, building scalable services and creating intuitive user experiences to manage fraud and transaction risks effectively.
What You’ll Do
As a Backend/API Engineer, you will:
- Design and build features that help users of Radar to manage and mitigate fraud.
- Collaborate with various teams within Stripe to develop infrastructure/platform systems and user-facing features.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and maintenance of systems.
- Address and resolve critical production issues across services.
- Uphold high engineering standards and improve engineering processes.
Who You Are
We seek individuals with a strong technical background and a passion for building impactful products. You should be comfortable with rapid changes and have a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering experience.
- Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle.
- Strong coding skills in Ruby and Java.
- Empathy for users and a strong customer focus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the financial technology space, especially in payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Analytical skills, particularly in modeling complex business flows.
Hybrid Work at Stripe
This role requires spending at least 50% of the time in the local office or with users, balancing in-person collaboration with flexibility.
Pay and Benefits
The annual salary range for this role is €81,600 - €122,400, depending on location and experience. Specific benefits include equity, bonuses, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends.
