About The Team
The Client Platform Engineering (CPE) team is a part of the Corporate Technology department at Stripe. We are responsible for the tooling that secures and manages our endpoints, ensuring a seamless user experience for Stripes. Our team manages over 7,000 macOS laptops, 2,000 ChromeOS devices, 7,000 iOS devices, and hundreds of Windows endpoints, covering the entire lifecycle of these assets.
What You’ll Do
As a Client Platform Engineer, you will bring an engineering mindset to solve technical problems, focusing on improving the security, reliability, compliance, and automation of our fleet. Your tasks will include managing our existing fleet, working on strategic projects, and contributing to our long-term planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage engineering projects to enhance fleet security and automation.
- Develop tools to reduce manual work.
- Collaborate with internal teams like Security, IT Operations, and Developer Productivity.
- Debug and solve complex technical issues.
- Maintain high standards for code quality and review.
- Mentor team members and contribute to team documents like the charter and roadmap.
- Develop operational metrics and improve tracking systems.
Who You Are
You should have experience with code-based configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible), proficiency in software development, and experience writing infrastructure as code. A user-first mindset and a focus on creating great user experiences are essential.
Hybrid Work at Stripe
This role requires spending at least 50% of the time in the local office or with users, balancing in-person collaboration with flexibility.
Pay and Benefits
The annual US base salary range for this role is $128,700 - $174,100, potentially including equity, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
