About The Role
This role is based in New York and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model. As a Backend Engineer, you will build products that maximize the reach and ROI of Patreon creators. You will engineer tools and products with high craft that maximize simplicity and power. You will synthesize feedback from user research, interviews, market insights and trends to build components that solve our users’ most immediate problems. You will employ an iterative approach to development with a focus on shipping evolutionary releases that culminate in revolutionary products. You will work hand in hand with cross-functional partners to refine and deliver new features. You will contribute to company-wide efforts to refine our front-end tech stack.
About You
You have 3+ years of experience in backend software development and demonstrated skill using Python, PHP, Java or a similar general purpose language. You understand web servers, API design frameworks, and data modeling. You possess excellent communication skills to facilitate requirements gathering, decision-making, and knowledge sharing. You hold a high standard of quality and craft with an eye for quality solutions and engineering detail. You have a track record of building systems with high reliability, and high throughput. You have a penchant for solving complex requirements with elegant and simple solutions. You are enthusiastic about building for creators.
