About The Role
As a Staff Frontend Engineer at Patreon, you will lead the design and development of key products that enhance the experience of Patreon creators. You will work with teams of engineers to break down and solve complex problems, establish and codify patterns and best practices in the areas of system design, performance, and testing. You will collaborate cross-functionally to align product deliverables with a long-term technical vision and partner to build and adopt engineering systems and solutions that will accelerate product development in the long run. Additionally, you will build a strong product-minded engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of key products for Patreon creators.
- Work with engineering teams to solve complex problems.
- Establish best practices in system design, performance, and testing.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align product deliverables with technical vision.
- Mentor and guide engineers to build a strong engineering culture.
About You
- 8+ years of experience in software development.
- High standard of quality and craft with an eye for UX and engineering detail.
- Comfortable with project leadership, including scoping, architecture, and delegation.
- In-depth knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Expertise in React, Node.js, and Yarn/NPM with Next.js experience.
- Strong working knowledge of modern web technologies, specifically REST.
- Experience tuning build tools like Webpack, Babel, and CircleCI.
- Preference for practicality over dogmatism.
- Penchant for solving complex requirements with elegant solutions.
