Overview
Zapier is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our Identity Team. This role is pivotal in scaling our Authentication and Authorization systems across our product and platform, ensuring robust Access Controls and User Management for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Authentication and Authorization systems.
- Build monitoring and observability for our services including SLOs, Alerts, and Dashboards.
- Work cross-functionally with partnering teams to communicate technical direction and understand their needs.
- Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and invest in critical areas.
- Contribute to Identity Platform initiatives, responding to bottlenecks and providing progress updates to stakeholders.
- Participate in our weekly On-Call rotation.
About You
- You love shipping to customers and have a passion for backend development.
- You bring 5+ years of software development experience, ideally in building complex web-based products.
- You have a strong understanding of Authentication protocols such as OAuth2, SAML, JWT, etc.
- Experience in implementing secure Authentication and Authorization mechanisms.
- Familiarity with micro-service architecture and resilient code design.
- Strong communication skills, fostering collaboration within and across teams.
