Zapier is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Runner Team, dedicated to enhancing the core execution platform that drives Zaps. This role is pivotal in empowering automation heroes to run mission-critical processes reliably and consistently. With exciting projects lined up to supercharge the scalability and reliability of the Workflow Runner system, it's an opportune time to contribute to a vital part of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the core execution platform for Zaps.
- Participate in or lead architecture design reviews.
- Refactor or improve existing code as language versions, frameworks, or techniques evolve.
- Work closely with product, data, and infrastructure teams to create seamless integrations.
- Provide feedback on tools, processes, and documentation to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Develop new skills through code review, discussions, and mentoring within the team.
About You
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on Python and large distributed systems.
- Strong background in AWS services and cloud computing technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and distributed databases.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn and explore new technologies.
