About the Role
Astranis Space Technologies is seeking a DevOps Engineer Intern for Fall 2024 to join our Flight Software team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite technology and gain hands-on experience in the aerospace industry. As a DevOps Intern, you will collaborate with our Flight Software and related teams to operate, scale, and automate operations for our embedded software and platform development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing software tools to gain insights into mission-critical software performance and correctness.
- Contribute towards Python version migration for a large repository.
- Create tooling to automate Python package generation and upload to a private repository.
- Support the automation of release, deployment, and monitoring tooling for development and production systems.
- Aid in the implementation and management of metrics and performance tracking in development, CI, production, and mission contexts.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in a related discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science).
- Relevant experience or coursework with Python.
- Familiarity with Git and/or GitHub.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties autonomously with guidance from senior engineers.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with Bazel build system.
- Experience with Python package generation.
- Familiarity with code coverage reporting.
- Exposure to static analysis tools.
Additional Information
- The base pay for this position is $29.00 per hour.
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
