About the Role
As a Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer Intern for Fall 2024, you will have the opportunity to work with our team to design, build, and test satellite software and hardware. This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year university and typically lasts for twelve weeks. You will be working on meaningful projects that contribute to our mission, and many past interns have transitioned to full-time roles at Astranis.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Guidance, Navigation, and Control team to design, build, and test satellite software and hardware.
- Engage in hands-on projects that may include designing and testing hardware/software for our satellites.
- Work in a dynamic environment where you can learn and make a significant impact.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in a technical discipline such as engineering, computer science, or physics, with a focus on control systems, orbital mechanics, or spacecraft design.
- Familiarity with control theory and/or estimation methods.
- Experience with Python and/or C/C++.
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test software and/or hardware from scratch.
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with spacecraft design.
- Experience with low thrust trajectories.
Compensation
The base pay for this position is $29.00 per hour.
