About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Python/Django developer to join our team in the Netherlands. This role is based in Amsterdam with a hybrid work policy requiring 3 days per week in the office. We offer relocation support and visa sponsorship if needed.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership and lead the effort for (re)building and maintaining the Django backend.
• Collaborate with the development team to design and implement new features.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the Python and Django communities.
• Monitor production environments for performance and troubleshoot issues.

About You

• 5+ years of experience as a backend software developer.
• Strong experience with Python and Django.
• Experience leading an engineering team, formally or informally.
• Proven experience with architecting/designing and refactoring software systems.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with Git and version control.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team.

Bonus Points

• Experience with JavaScript and web development frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Experience with designing and building REST APIs.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
