Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer – Digital Money and Payments R&D

As a Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions in the field of digital money and payments. This role involves extensive collaboration with both engineering and product teams to create proofs of concept and prototypes for new areas of research and development. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing solutions across the full stack, from front-end to back-end.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating as part of an agile squad with Engineering and Product teams to develop proofs of concept and prototypes for new areas of research and development.
- Architecting and implementing front-end, mid-tier integration, and backend functionality.
- Writing clean, readable, and highly maintainable code in React, Python, Go, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Working with TechOps to containerize and deploy systems in the cloud using Kubernetes with Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Presenting findings, challenges, and solutions to both technical and non-technical teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Must be a U.S Citizen or a Green Card holder with intent to become a U.S Citizen.
- Proven experience contributing across multiple development stacks, areas, and technologies.
- Outstanding ability to translate non-technical product requirements into technical designs, specifications, interfaces, and implementations.
- Highly capable at operating within ambiguity and abstract concepts.
- Significant experience with common Continuous Integration and Deployment tools, Docker, React, RESTful API design (FastAPI), and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools.
