Tilla is a rapidly growing SaaS startup revolutionizing maritime workforce management. Founded in 2021, our platform optimizes the cumbersome process of cargo ship crew logistics, making operations more humane and efficient. We leverage a variety of data sources to streamline crew logistics, a critical pain point in the industry.
Your Role
As the Lead Software Engineer, you will spearhead our technical team, acting as both a player and manager. You will be hands-on in delivering features while building a robust, delivery-focused engineering organization. Your responsibilities include making well-reasoned technical decisions, guiding the development across the entire codebase, and ensuring smooth product development flow from design to maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Make informed decisions and trade-offs in your area; contribute to and guide development across the entire codebase.
- Project Management: Take end-to-end responsibility for projects of increasing complexity, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features.
- Mentorship: Mentor other engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and analytics teams to drive requirements and consider all parties' needs.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Identify and address issues proactively before they escalate.
- Team Productivity: Scale yourself by delegating effectively and maintaining team productivity.
- Strategic Vision: Identify strategic technical debt, provide cost/benefit analysis, and prioritize accordingly.
- Communication: Communicate effectively across functions, set clear expectations, and provide frequent feedback.
