About the Role
As a Lead Software Developer at Kalmar, you will be at the forefront of driving digital transformation in sustainable cargo handling. You will guide development teams by example, focusing on creating data-driven software solutions for intelligent cargo handling. This role involves hands-on coding, technical guidance during sprint planning, and active participation in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead and Mentor: Guide the development teams without direct managerial responsibilities. Coach and mentor team members in software development best practices.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership in the design and architecture of new applications. Support the Product Owner with technical insights during sprint planning.
- Coding and Development: Actively participate in the coding of new applications. Ensure compliance with application development processes and manage production releases.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with various stakeholders including developers, data scientists, designers, and business owners to ensure that the solutions meet business needs.
- Problem Solving: Take a proactive role in troubleshooting and resolving issues, promoting a collaborative and solution-oriented environment.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in developing large-scale cloud and web-based software systems.
- Proficiency in programming with Typescript and familiarity with other languages such as Javascript/Node.js and Python.
- Strong knowledge of containers, serverless computing, DevOps practices, data streaming, microservices, databases, and REST APIs.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and tools like Ansible, CloudFormation, CDK, Jenkins, and Bitbucket pipelines.
- Understanding of IoT systems is a plus.
