About the Role
As a Mid-Level Data Scientist in the Search Optimization team at OLX, you will be at the forefront of enhancing search functionalities across OLX's platforms in Europe. Your primary focus will be on developing and optimizing search techniques to improve the relevance and efficiency of search results, directly impacting user experience and business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning models for search relevance and ranking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, data analysts, and engineers to integrate machine learning solutions into OLX's platforms.
- Conduct extensive data analysis to understand user behavior and improve model performance.
- Engage in A/B testing to measure the effectiveness of your models and make data-driven decisions.
- Maintain and refine machine learning models to ensure optimal performance.
- Present findings and progress to stakeholders and participate in strategic discussions.
Skills and Experience
- 2-3 years of professional experience in data science with a focus on search optimization.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in data engineering and analytics.
- Experience in deploying models to production and understanding of MLOps practices.
