Overview
As a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft, you will be part of the Azure Core team, specifically working within the Compute Platform Team. This role involves developing microservices and components that manage tens of millions of Linux and Windows virtual machines, handling billions of transactions daily. You will operate in a fast-paced, supportive environment, collaborating with highly skilled engineers, leads, and executives.
Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to determine user requirements and features for scenarios.
- Lead the design and building of distributed services that are secure, scalable, reliable, and performant.
- Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish and improve performance and resilience.
- Define customer success metrics and engineer services to meet and exceed these goals.
- Leverage expertise across product features to drive project plans and release plans.
- Operate services in production, ensuring high standards of monitoring, detection, and resolution of issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Extensive experience in technical engineering with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Experience designing complex software services and components.
- Experience building services hosted in the cloud.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building scalable resilient services hosted in the Cloud.
