React Native Engineer, Mobile Foundation

About The Role

We’re looking for a strong engineer who is enthusiastic about mobile technologies and innovating on the future of our mobile apps! As an engineer on the Mobile Foundation team, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to simplify how teams build our app for the highest quality, velocity, and member experience.

Responsibilities

• Stay up-to-date with React Native developments and best practices.
• Deliver the best developer experience for Chime product engineers.
• Optimize our app’s quality, observability, and performance.
• Improve our mobile release process, shipping high-quality app updates to members quickly.
• Work across the stack (React Native, Native iOS/Android, GraphQL API, CI/Build systems).
• Partner with Chime product and infrastructure teams to identify and build improvements to the mobile platform’s capabilities and frameworks.
• Support teammates by participating actively in technical design, code reviews, and architecture decisions.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years experience in frontend development, with expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript/React Native.
• Bonus: native iOS or Android experience, React, Redux, GraphQL, Jest.
• Experience collaborating well with team members.
• Understanding of architectural patterns of large production services built for scale.
• Ability to safely make changes without disrupting and introducing regressions to millions of users.
• A passion for learning and sharing knowledge alongside teammates, with self-motivation and keen attention to detail.
• A strong empathy for the users of the products you create.
