We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our dynamic team in Canberra, Australia, to develop technology for the infinite recycling and upcycling of plastic waste.
About the Role
As a Research Scientist at Samsara Eco, you will be at the forefront of cutting-edge research, working at the interface of academia and industry. You will have access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and be part of a vibrant research community at one of Australia's leading universities.
Key Responsibilities
- Characterize enzymes, including activity, kinetics, and stability.
- Express and purify engineered enzymes.
- Collaborate with scientists and bioinformaticians to engineer and improve candidate enzymes.
- Work with engineers to implement and develop enzymatic processes.
- Conduct literature research and stay updated with the latest developments in enzyme discovery and engineering.
- Communicate results and progress to project teams and management, contributing to project reports and presentations.
Qualifications
- PhD in protein engineering, biochemistry, chemical biology, or a related field.
- Experience in protein expression, purification, and characterization.
- Experience in enzyme characterization, including kinetics, stability, and assay development.
- Familiarity with computational protein design and enzyme immobilization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
