Altruist is seeking a talented Senior Back End Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. This role is pivotal in driving the development of our high-impact and high-visibility projects within the Billing team. As a Senior Back End Engineer, you will be a leader in engineering best practices, mentoring other engineers, and developing impactful solutions.

Your Impact

• Leadership and Mentorship: Act as a leader and steward of engineering best practices, helping to mentor other engineers.
• Problem Solving: Analyze and solve complex problems spanning multiple user personas and workflows.
• Development: Focus on building and scaling services and user-facing web applications.
• Customer-Centric Solutions: Build customer-centric, scalable, and performant applications and features.
• Data Management: Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ELT processes.
• Integration: Build new data integrations based on established requirements.
• Data Analysis: Perform data analysis to investigate and resolve data issues.

What You Bring

• Experience: 4+ years of software engineering experience building precise and scalable distributed systems with best engineering practices.
• Education: Ideally a B.A. / B.S. degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science or similar Engineering/Mathematics degrees.
• Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in modern tech stacks including Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, Postgres, and Kubernetes.
• Ownership: Demonstrated pride in your work and a strong sense of ownership.
• Communication: Superb communication skills, with the ability to listen and share perspectives effectively.
• Resilience: Unwavering determination to achieve success, regardless of adversity.
• Assurance: Confidence in your knowledge base and openness to differing perspectives.
• Creative Problem Solving: Instinctual creativity in finding solutions to roadblocks.
