Join Klar as a Senior Back End Developer
Klar is seeking a highly skilled Senior Back End Developer to join our Collections team. This is a full-time remote position open to candidates based in Germany. As a Senior Back End Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing flexible, scalable software systems to reduce the costs of digital banking. You will primarily work on our collection services and loan credit systems, which are key components of Klar's service offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Write correct, efficient, clean, robust, and maintainable code, primarily in Java 11+.
- Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to prevent current errors or future regressions.
- Participate in code reviews to learn from others and to teach them as well.
- Prototype new technologies and libraries that could save time and effort.
- Write clear and concise documentation for users of your systems.
- Identify common problems between multiple systems and develop common solutions via libraries.
- Create designs for new systems and features of moderate complexity.
- Make time estimates to implement designs that can aid in future planning.
- Mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience with Java, SpringBoot, PostgreSQL or other relational databases, Apache Kafka, and Docker.
- Experience with microservice architectures, synchronous REST communication over HTTP, and asynchronous communication over Apache Kafka.
- Deep understanding of database transactions and locking mechanisms.
- Knowledge of algorithms and data structures for distributing loads like sharding and leadership election.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience with logging and metrics technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience with infrastructure technologies such as AWS, Github Actions, Kubernetes, Istio, Terraform, Terragrunt.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Experience with the Fintech domain or high-paced startup is preferred.
