About The Role
Abnormal Security is seeking a Senior Back End Software Engineer to join our Inbound Email Products (IEP) team. The IEP team is responsible for building and operating core components of our flagship Email Security product, including Remediation Flows and Customer Portal Dashboards. This is a full-stack team, although the focus for this role will be on the back end.
What You Will Do
- Work with the Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, and Product Manager to craft the roadmap for the IEP team.
- Lead critical software projects from conception to launch and operation, collaborating with a group of engineers.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-To-Market teams to implement, verify, and iterate on customer issues and requests.
- Raise the bar of engineering excellence, actively contributing to knowledge sharing and professional development within the team.
Must Have
- Extensive experience with our technology stack: Python, Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Django, Spark, Prometheus.
- A BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or a related engineering field.
- At least 5 years of industry experience in backend web development and distributed systems, designing and building software applications.
- Experience working both individually and in groups on a regular basis.
- Proficiency in asynchronous and written communication, especially with distributed teams.
- Proven track record of building features and components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development with operational tasks.

- Knowledge of containerization using Docker or similar technologies.

Salary Range
$175,800—$206,800 USD per year.
