Senior/Staff Software Engineer - Backend/Python

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to join our backend team. This is a fully remote position open to candidates based in the USA. You will be working with a talented team to design, implement, and scale major systems and user-facing features.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and launch new user-facing features.
Improve the performance and scalability of our GraphQL and REST API.
Enhance our internal messaging infrastructure using streaming technologies like Kafka and Redis.
Work with Twilio's API, WebSockets, and WebRTC to improve our calling features.
Build user-facing analytics features that provide actionable insights based on sales activity data.
Participate in code reviews and provide overall code quality suggestions.

Requirements

5+ years of experience building modern back-end systems.
Proficiency in Python; experience with Flask is a plus.
Hands-on production experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, or similar data stores.
Experience designing, scaling, debugging, and optimizing systems.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a small and talented team.
Located in the USA.

Bonus Points

Experience with open source contributions related to our tech stack.
Experience leading small project teams.
Experience building B2B SaaS products.
Experience with complex architectures that support multiple APIs (e.g., REST, GQL, WebSockets).
