Your Role
As a Senior Back End Engineer at Otrium, you will be pivotal in crafting applications that are not only functional but also scalable and robust. You will be part of a dynamic team that thrives on collaboration and innovation to ensure that every piece of clothing produced finds its owner, thereby reducing industry waste.
Responsibilities
- Understand and interpret business requirements to design and architect solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, optimized, and scalable code.
- Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests.
- Participate actively in peer reviews and testing to ensure high-quality software development.
- Take ownership of new and existing modules/projects to ensure stability.
- Set up monitoring and implement proactive improvements.
- Document your work clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Promote engineering excellence and best practices within the team.
What You'll Bring
- Over 5 years of experience as a Back End Engineer, preferably in an international start-up environment.
- Proficiency in Node.js; experience with PHP and Symfony is a plus.
- Expertise in building applications using Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of micro-services, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
- Knowledge of message brokers and queue systems like Redis and Kafka.
- Experience with various data storage solutions including MySQL and DynamoDB.
- Strong advocacy for Domain Driven Design, crafting systems with clarity and purpose.
- A commitment to rigorous testing practices to ensure system reliability.
