About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Care.com, you will be part of a dynamic team that bridges the gap between technology and practical solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to develop scalable, high-performance backend systems that support the diverse needs of our users. This role involves a significant amount of problem-solving in an agile environment, where you will be expected to deliver robust web solutions and contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Participate in team collaborative agile ceremonies.
- Help mentor junior engineers.
- Raise the bar in coding standards and agile processes.
- Deliver high-quality features for our customers.
- Have ownership and accountability for the team's work.
- Care about how our customers are using our products through production monitoring.
What You'll Be Working On
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to ensure the highest quality product platform.
- Collaborate with peer organizations, quality assurance, and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions.
- Develop highly available and highly scalable applications.
- Generate technical documentation as well as unit and functional tests.
- Shape development processes to promote a high-quality output while continuing to iterate.
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of team members.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- 6+ Years Professional Experience.
- BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or some form of Engineering.
- Experience with AWS infrastructure.
- Experience developing scalable, multi-tier web solutions, ideally for a consumer website.
- Experience with relational databases, document databases, and/or key/value stores.
- Proficiency in Java, GoLang, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL, REST, and gRPC.
