Role Overview
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Speak, you will be instrumental in building AI-powered product experiences. This role requires a blend of backend and full-stack capabilities, with a focus on developing scalable backend systems that support innovative, conversational language learning tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend systems
- Collaborate with product, design, and machine learning teams to deliver seamless user experiences
- Debug complex streaming issues and own the development cycle from conception to production
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering an environment of growth and learning
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry experience in backend or full-stack development, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with consumer applications and a strong product sense
