Runwise is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a leading energy tech company, we are at the forefront of climate-tech innovation, managing key energy systems in over 7,500 buildings across the United States. Our technology significantly reduces energy usage, lowering costs and carbon emissions.
About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, testing, and implementing the core software that powers our systems. You will work on both embedded controls in buildings and the serverless cloud infrastructure that processes and analyzes billions of data points. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to our core Golang application and infrastructure.
- Develop serverless Go architecture for web, mobile, and API interfaces.
- Write efficient code to process large volumes of data from building sensors.
- Collaborate with property companies to optimize their energy systems.
Who You Are
- You have 3+ years of experience with Golang.
- You have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- You are passionate about building new products and systems at scale.
- You have extensive experience with AWS services like DynamoDB, SQS, AWS Lambda, EC2, and CloudFormation.
- Experience with Python and embedded software architecture is a plus.
- You have a track record of mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
