About the Role
Vio.com is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Offers team. This role is pivotal in ensuring our customers receive the best deals every time they use our platform. You will be working with a modern tech stack that includes Go, Python, Rust, AWS (ElastiCache, StepFunctions, EC2, S3, etc.), Redis, DBT, Snowflake, and Terraform. Your work will directly impact our users and business performance as we process large amounts of data daily and integrate with numerous suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team to solve complex problems and build products that deliver the best deals to travelers.
- Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for performance, reliability, and code quality improvements.
- Write design documents and participate in architecture meetings to future-proof applications.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Enhance our infrastructure to support growth in a cost-effective manner.
Who You Are
- You have at least 7 years of experience in backend development.
- Proficient in at least two programming languages such as Go, Rust, Python, Java, Scala, or Ruby. Experience with Golang is a plus.
- Experienced in designing, developing, and deploying highly scalable software.
- Familiar with data products and setting up data pipelines.
- Knowledgeable in distributed systems, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.
- You write tests as part of your coding routine and are familiar with Agile methodologies.
