About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at MetaMask, you will be a key player in building and maintaining the Wallet API infrastructure and tooling. You will manage and govern a pipeline of proposed new APIs and work with partners and standards bodies across the Web3 ecosystem to shape wallet API standards. This role is crucial for creating and managing the API that all MetaMask developers use, ensuring it evolves with the larger ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Wallet API infrastructure and tooling.
- Manage and govern a pipeline of proposed new APIs.
- Collaborate with partners and standards bodies across the Web3 ecosystem to shape wallet API standards.
- Ensure the API evolves with the larger ecosystem and maintains a high-quality standard.
Requirements
- 4 years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- 2 years of experience working on a team of at least 3 other engineers with a strong focus on peer reviews.
- 1 year of experience with building/deploying dapps and/or web3/ethers.js libraries.
- 2 years of experience with architecting, implementing, and/or managing externally-facing APIs.
- 2 years of experience managing an existing codebase.
- 1 year of experience owning and managing unit, integration, end-to-end tests, and/or testing frameworks/strategies.
- 1 year of experience with JSON-RPC, Swagger, and/or OpenAPI.
Bonus Points
- Mobile development experience.
- Security engineering.
- Involvement in EIP authoring or review processes.
- Experience with Browser APIs.

Salary
The salary range for US-based candidates is $100,000—$237,000 USD, depending on experience and skills.
