Join Our Team as a Senior Backend PHP Developer
We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend PHP Developer to join our Checkout Team, either onsite in Hamburg or remotely within the EU. This role is pivotal in managing the complete order lifecycle, from the moment customers add items to their baskets to handling refunds for returned items. You will interact with various internal and external stakeholders, including our in-house CRM team, external marketplaces, and multiple payment providers across different countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance team collaboration within your team and across different teams.
- Work closely with peers to develop a scalable software architecture for our API, written in PHP.
- Embrace modern agile software methodologies such as extreme programming, TDD, and Pair-Programming.
- Utilize an extensive tech stack to ensure the right tools are used for the right jobs.
- Contribute ideas and creations in a flat hierarchy with short decision-making processes.
Who You Are
- You have a minimum of 6 years of experience with PHP.
- You have practical and recent experience with Laravel or Symfony.
- You have experience in developing APIs and working with MySQL, Redis, or equivalent data storage.
- You possess strong experience with Git.
- You are self-motivated, responsible, and eager to learn.
- You understand servant-leadership or leader-leader models and act as a mentor for your peers.

- Experience with high volumes of data and load-intensive environments.
- Experience in highly integrated environments.
- Extensive experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience integrating PSPs.
- Experience designing and reviewing complex integrations.
