About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (PHP) to join our dynamic engineering team in Berlin, Germany. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying backend services with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability. You will be part of a cross-functional team, collaborating closely with other engineers to solve real problems for our customers at a massive scale.
Key Responsibilities

- Share your knowledge and build creative solutions while helping the team evolve best practices.
- Design, develop, and deploy backend services with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for the services that are owned by your team, including taking part in an on-call rotation.
Who You Are
- You have 5+ years of experience in a similar role and are programming language agnostic.
- You hold a minimum of a B.S. degree in Information Technology or Computer Sciences.
- You are able to adapt, change, and grow quickly as we scale the organization.
- You are passionate about engineering practices like agile, continuous delivery, test-driven development, traceability, and observability.
- You have a growth mentality, are curious, and not afraid to be experimental.
- You share your ideas and continuously improve yourself and the team around you.
- You have solid experience as an Engineer designing, developing, and maintaining API-driven solutions.
- You possess strong communication skills, high integrity, and great attention to detail.
Technical Skills
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in PHP (Symfony) and Microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Elastic Search, RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with Memcache, Redis, ELK, Jaeger, Prometheus & Grafana.
