Join Our Team as a Senior Backend Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Platform Foundation Team at Instapro Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of our platform, which supports tradespeople and homeowners across Europe.
About the Platform Foundation Team
The Platform Foundation Team is responsible for developing the core platform, including authentication and authorization for users and services. Our current projects include:
- Developing an event bus for cross-service communication.
- Improving and scaling our Message Queue system, which handles 90 million asynchronous messages daily.
- Enhancing the security of our platform.
Technology Stack
Our backend stack includes:
- PHP 8.3 and Symfony 6.4
- MySQL 8, RabbitMQ, Redis, GraphQL
- Docker and Kubernetes
- AWS services, including Serverless, Aurora PostgreSQL, and EventBridge
We emphasize high-quality, tested code and use tools like PHPUnit, PHPStan, Phan, and PHP-CS-Fixer, integrated into our GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Your Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Drive ideas and improvements during product and technical discussions.
- Maintain and adhere to development quality standards.
- Guide and support other engineers in their growth.
- Share your knowledge and experience with the team.
Job Requirements
- Extensive experience developing web applications with PHP and Symfony/Laravel.
- Mastery of software design principles and backend application architecture.
- Experience designing scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant services.
- Proficiency with test automation tools and frameworks.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with GraphQL, GitLab pipelines, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Exposure to Event Driven Architecture.
