Senior Data Scientist

We are currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Loom Product team, focusing on driving activation, engagement, and retention by delivering value to both creators and viewers on our platform.

Your Future Team

The Core Product team at Loom is pioneering AI-led initiatives to revolutionize video creation and editing. We are looking for a data science expert who excels in using data insights to shape the team’s direction. You will work with rich, complex datasets for a variety of analytical tasks, including ad-hoc research, dashboard creation, funnel building, test design and evaluation, complex database queries, ETL pipeline development, and predictive model creation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on product and business problems with cross-functional partners, becoming a trusted strategic partner through structured and clear work.
• Apply technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, and data presentation to develop business strategies and solve major challenges.
• Develop hypotheses using analytical approaches, methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them.
• Define, understand, and test opportunities to improve products and business, influencing roadmaps through insights and recommendations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to inform, influence, and execute strategic decisions.
• Identify and measure the success of product efforts through forecasting and monitoring key product metrics to understand trends.
• Use data to shape product development, quantify new opportunities, identify challenges, and ensure products bring value to users and Atlassian.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an analytics role, turning data into insights and recommendations.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize insights into compelling stories.
• Experience with the SaaS customer lifecycle from acquisition to retention.
• Experience in designing and analyzing experiments.
• Superior SQL skills (Snowflake, Postgres) for writing structured and efficient queries on large datasets.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau or Hex).
• Experience with a statistical scripting language (e.g., R or Python) is a plus.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. The base pay for this role ranges from $157,500 to $233,400 annually, depending on the candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
