About the Role

At Cloudera, we empower people to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, analytics, and statistical modelling with a particular focus on prescriptive analytics. This role will involve analyzing complex data sets, developing prescriptive models, and delivering actionable recommendations to support business decisions. The Data Scientist will also play a crucial role in enhancing our data analytics offerings, implementing prescriptive business processes, and upskilling team members.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze large and complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
Develop and implement prescriptive models to optimize business operations and decision-making.
Utilize statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to support data-driven strategies.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner.
Ensure data quality and integrity through data cleaning, transformation, and validation.
Mentor and upskill team members in data science and analytics techniques.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related role.
Proficiency in Python and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong knowledge of statistical methods, prescriptive analytics, and data mining techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
Knowledge of database management systems like SQL and NoSQL.
Previous experience in a business intelligence or analytics team.
A track record of continuously improving and innovating data analytics processes and methodologies.
A passion for staying current with the latest trends and advancements in prescriptive analytics and data science.
