About the Position

We, the Data Innovation team at Vattenfall, are dedicated to leveraging data to transform our portfolio and support fossil freedom. Our platform, centered around Databricks, provides actionable insights that drive efficiency, reduce emissions, and align strategies with organizational goals. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in crafting data-driven solutions that address various challenges and unlock new avenues of value.

Responsibilities

Explore data to identify patterns and business opportunities.
Perform statistical analyses to derive insights.
Design and conduct experiments for data-driven decisions.
Develop advanced algorithms for pattern recognition and predictive models.
Automate and optimize decision-making processes with statistical modeling and ML pipelines.
Use state-of-the-art ML tools for forecasting, anomaly detection, data integrity monitoring, and explainable AI.
Validate models through rigorous testing.
Enhance data quality with automated cleaning strategies.
Communicate analytical results to stakeholders.
Stay updated on data science and ML developments, e.g., by attending conferences.

Your Profile

Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Extensive knowledge and experience in programming languages such as Python and Spark.
Advanced expertise in machine learning and AI frameworks.
Proficient in using Pandas, NumPy, pySpark, and SQL.
Strong commitment to best practices in programming, especially in Python.
Domain knowledge in energy markets and asset optimization.
Experience working collaboratively on software projects in an agile environment.

Additional Information

Location: Flexible (Berlin, Hamburg, or Hohenwarte)
