Join Eight Sleep as a Senior Data Scientist in R&D
Eight Sleep, a leader in sleep fitness technology, is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Research and Development team. This role is pivotal in advancing our core data intelligence features and generating user-facing insights that enhance our innovative sleep products.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for:
- Improving Core Features: Enhance intelligent features such as Pod temperature actuation.
- Insight Development: Create user-facing insights that connect behavior, physiology, and Pod actuation.
- Data Analysis: Conduct exploratory data analysis on research studies to inform new features, including data engineering of study data.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Software, and Marketing teams to bring features to production.
What We’re Looking For
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 4 years in the industry as a data scientist, with:
- 1+ years working with time-series human physiology data.
- 2+ years of machine learning experience, including classical techniques and deep learning.
- 2+ years applying statistics to real-world data.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python or R for statistical tests (e.g., t-tests, ANOVA, multiple regression, linear mixed models).
- Experience with data visualization tools like Plotly, Seaborn, ggplot2, and Matplotlib.
- Familiarity with SQL and Github.
- Production Experience: Proven track record of shipping features into production.
- Communication: Strong ability to communicate clearly, attention to detail, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
