Responsibilities

• Develop, fine-tune, and deploy predictive algorithms using cutting-edge machine learning techniques and optimization models.
• Work closely with our Risk decision analysts to create automated solutions that detect and mitigate emerging fraudulent trends.
• Collaborate with the Product team to design experiments, analyze results, and extract actionable insights to enhance Scalapay's offerings. This will involve statistical modeling, correlation analysis, and causal inference to understand behaviors inside the Scalapay product.
• Stay ahead of the curve by staying updated on the latest technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
• Deep theoretical and applied knowledge in traditional machine learning, as well as knowledge in statistical inference, time series analysis and forecasting, or mathematical optimization.
• Extensive experience with the end-to-end model development cycle.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools and cloud infrastructures.
• Excellent coding skills (SQL, Python/R).
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a knack for translating business challenges into data-driven hypotheses.
• The ability to own and manage the entire data pipeline for your projects proactively.
• Adaptability and change management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.

Bonus Points

• An advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or related fields.
• Experience in start-up environments, or in the Risk/Fraud domain.
