Overview
Join Mastercard's Data and Analytics team as a Data Scientist II, where you will play a pivotal role in pioneering transaction-based revenue methodologies to inform and guide Mastercard’s strategy, product design, and innovation. This position is part of the Products & Innovation business, focusing on building internal analytic partnerships to optimize business health, portfolio, and revenue opportunities.
Role
As a Data Scientist II, you will:
- Collaborate with the Global Send team to develop and maintain advanced reporting and data visualization capabilities.
- Translate business requirements into tangible solution specifications and deliver high-quality, on-time results.
- Create repeatable processes to support the development of modeling and reporting.
- Utilize tools to manipulate large-scale databases and synthesize data insights.
- Provide first-level insights and present findings via Excel and PowerPoint.
- Apply quality control, data validation, and cleansing processes to new and existing data sources.
Qualifications
- Experience in business intelligence, data management, data mining, data analytics, data reporting, and quantitative analysis.
- Financial institution or payments experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with platforms such as SQL Server and Microsoft BI Stack.
- Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is advantageous.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Domo, and PowerBI.
- Knowledge of Hadoop environments, Python, R, and WPS is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with management and internal stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics. M.S./M.B.A. preferred.
