Senior Data Scientist

Join PayPal's SMB Merchant Onboarding Analytics team as a Senior Data Scientist. This role is pivotal in generating valuable insights from data through deep dive analysis and supporting new product launches by establishing test and control plans. You will ensure constant monitoring is in place to track product performance.

Meet Our Team

We are part of the GADS Merchant Product team, supporting all things SMB. Our team comprises members from Analytics, Machine Learning, and Strategy fields working closely together to improve the SMB metrics that matter.

Your Way to Impact

This is a high visibility analytics role where you are expected to be hands-on with technical skills and work closely with product stakeholders. You will be responsible for one or more health metrics, reporting changes, attributing reasons, and helping the product team move the metric using new ideas and experiments.

What You Need to Bring

At least 5 years of professional experience in a Data Science or analytical role
Experience analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets
Advanced SQL experience, preferably with Big Query analytics (Google Cloud)
Visualization experience (ideally Tableau, but Looker or others are okay)
Experience with Python
Understanding of A/B testing and experiment design
Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and statistical tools
Experience in the consumer product space and/or FinTech, payments, ecommerce is highly preferred
Expertise in conveying coherent insights
Ability to solve problems analytically and create actionable recommendations
Advanced ability to use reporting tools like Tableau and/or Excel
A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a quantitative field (such as Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering) is preferred but not required

Work Model
