Manager, Data Scientist
Overview
Join Mastercard's Product Data & Analytics team as a Manager, Data Scientist. We are a global team dedicated to building internal analytic partnerships, focusing on business health, portfolio and revenue optimization, initiative tracking, new product development, and Go-To Market strategies. Our team provides scalable end-to-end data solutions, influencing decisions across Mastercard through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Develop data-driven, innovative, scalable analytical solutions to support business and client needs.
- Create predictive models, behavioral segmentation frameworks, profitability analyses, ad hoc reporting, and data visualizations.
- Collaborate with global and regional teams to develop and maintain advanced reporting and data visualization capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of custom analyses and solutions, deriving insights to solve critical business questions.
- Translate client/stakeholder needs into technical analyses and solutions, presenting findings to clients/stakeholders.
- Deliver high-quality project solutions and tools within agreed timelines and budget parameters.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client managers and liaise with internal stakeholders.
- Mentor junior-level colleagues and develop talent through ongoing technical training and peer review.
Required Skills and Experience
- 8-14 years of experience in data management, data mining, data analytics, data reporting, data product development, and quantitative analysis.
- Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write optimized queries for large data sets.
- Experience with platforms/environments such as Cloudera Hadoop, Big Data technology stack, SQL Server, Microsoft BI Stack, Cloud, Snowflake, and other relevant technologies.
- Proficiency in Python, Scala, Hive, Impala, Spark, and related technologies.
- Experience in data pipeline creation using tools like Alteryx, SSIS, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of job scheduling tools such as Apache Airflow, NIFI, and others.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Domo, and/or PowerBI.
- Strong data validation, quality control, and cleansing skills.
- Financial institution or payments experience is a plus.
