Job Description
Overview
Join PayPal as a Senior Product Data Scientist on the Venmo Analytics team. This role is pivotal in generating valuable insights from data through deep dive analysis, measuring product experiments, and ensuring analytics support for new product/feature launches. You will be instrumental in monitoring product performance and driving data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deep Dive Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses on key business trends to generate actionable insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Risk, Product, Marketing, and other teams to identify performance trends and root causes.
- Experimentation Support: Establish test and control plans for new product experiments and ensure continuous monitoring of product performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders to anticipate and address business questions.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in an analytical role, with experience managing a small team of analysts being a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, and statistical tools. Advanced SQL experience, preferably with Teradata systems, data mining, and Big Query analytics (Google Cloud). Experience with Python or R is highly desirable.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to solve problems analytically and create actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the payments, ecommerce, or financial services industry is a plus.

Work Environment
PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace.
