DraftKings is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Sofia, Bulgaria. As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in directing our engineering teams and influencing our product roadmap. This position is not only technical but also strategic, requiring collaboration across teams to inform business decisions and creatively solve scaling challenges.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the Design and Development: You will lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based applications using AWS services. Your expertise in .NET C# will be crucial in building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features. Your role will involve providing technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers.
- Ensure Best Practices: Ensure the application of best practices in coding, security, and performance. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Initiate continuous improvement initiatives, including refactoring legacy codebases to enhance performance and maintainability.
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive Experience: You should have 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role. Your experience as the ‘expert’ in a development team where you were responsible for everything from planning to delivering key features is essential.
- Technical Expertise: Strong expertise in the .NET software development stack, including C#, .NET Core, and Entity Framework. Experience with ServiceStack and containerized microservices is an advantage.
- Database Skills: Strong relational database skills using technologies like MySQL or SQL Server.
- AWS Familiarity: Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure is a plus.
- Leadership and Communication: Excellent troubleshooting skills, real-time decision-making, and responsiveness to problem-solving that prioritize the customer experience. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to mentor and lead a team of engineers.
