As a Senior Product Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of this mission, transforming vast amounts of data into actionable insights that drive our business forward.
About the Role
As the first Product Data Scientist at Whop, you will report directly to the Head of Data. Your primary responsibility will be to convert our extensive data into insights that inform business decisions. You will create dashboards and reports that are crucial for understanding both the supply and demand sides of our marketplace.
You will:
- Develop and maintain dashboards that provide insights into category-based performance.
- Lead A/B testing initiatives to understand user behavior and optimize the user experience.
- Collaborate with Product, Growth, and Operations teams to drive data-based decisions.
- Use SQL extensively to extract and analyze data, and occasionally use Python for deeper analysis.
Your First 30 Days
- Within 7 days: Familiarize yourself with our database and create your first dashboard.
- Within 14 days: Present your first operational dashboard and guide teams with insights.
- Within 30 days: Produce multiple dashboards, identify key metrics, and become a trusted partner in decision-making.
Who You Are
You are passionate about data and see it as a narrative that fuels impact. You have a knack for identifying patterns and trends and have used data to inform strategies in previous roles. You are proficient in SQL and A/B testing, and comfortable using Python for analysis.
You are proactive, asking the right questions and diving into complex problems without waiting for directives. You understand marketplace dynamics and aim to create comprehensive tools that guide decision-makers. Your communication skills are excellent, and you thrive in cross-functional roles.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in a high transaction volume marketplace.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with A/B testing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate results clearly.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
