About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team and help drive our science and machine learning efforts at Headway. As a key member of the team, you will own outcomes that involve the use of machine learning and data science. You will bridge the gap between Data and Engineering to provide ML-based solutions and help shape the infrastructure that powers our ML solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve our technology products and translate business requirements into ML solutions.
• Research and develop models and algorithms, quantifying appropriate metrics and targets.
• Lead the research, development, and deployment of machine learning solutions that support our patients, providers, and insurance payers.
• Solve complex data analysis problems using advanced analytical methods.
• Communicate findings to technical collaborators and business stakeholders.

What Will Make You Successful

• PhD or Master’s Degree plus 3+ years of industry or academic research experience in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
• Experience with models deployed into production systems.
• Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages such as C++ or Java.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: Starting at $195,500 based on industry tenure and experience.
