Job Description
As a Senior React.js/Node.js Engineer at Merkle, you will be a key player in our software development team, reporting directly to the Software Development Team Lead. You will work on both front-end and back-end projects, contributing to large-scale eCommerce projects that enhance the shopping experience for millions of users. Your role will involve solving complex problems, iterating quickly to find optimal solutions, and working with a variety of technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using React.js and Node.js.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with ReactJS and Node.js.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
- Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles.
- Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token.
- Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
- Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization.
- Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git and SVN.
- Experience with testing frameworks like Mocha, Jasmine, or Karma.
- Understanding of Progressive Web Apps and Single Page Application development.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Understanding of Agile methodologies.
