Senior React.js/Node.js Engineer

Job Description

As a Senior React.js/Node.js Engineer at Merkle, you will be a key player in our software development team, reporting directly to the Software Development Team Lead. You will work on both front-end and back-end projects, contributing to large-scale eCommerce projects that enhance the shopping experience for millions of users. Your role will involve solving complex problems, iterating quickly to find optimal solutions, and working with a variety of technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain web applications using React.js and Node.js.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience with ReactJS and Node.js.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles.
Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux).
Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token.
Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
A knack for benchmarking and optimization.
Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git and SVN.
Experience with testing frameworks like Mocha, Jasmine, or Karma.
Understanding of Progressive Web Apps and Single Page Application development.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Understanding of Agile methodologies.
